How to Check GPU and Case Clearance

A graphics card can be electrically compatible and still fail to fit inside the case.

Check length

Compare the manufacturer-listed GPU length with the case’s maximum graphics-card clearance. Leave room for cables and airflow rather than treating the maximum as a target.

Check thickness

Modern GPUs can occupy several expansion slots. Make sure adjacent cards, vertical mounts and bottom-mounted fans will not interfere.

Account for radiators

A front radiator and its fans can reduce available GPU length. Always use the case manufacturer’s configuration-specific clearance figures.

Verify the exact models

Board-partner versions of the same GPU can have very different dimensions, so check the exact card rather than only the GPU family.
