A DDR5 motherboard requires DDR5 memory. DIMM generations are physically keyed differently and are not interchangeable.

Capacity

Choose capacity for the applications you actually use and leave upgrade strategy in mind. More capacity does not automatically increase gaming performance when the workload already fits in memory.

Rated speeds may rely on memory profiles and platform support. Check the motherboard documentation and, for maximum confidence, its memory qualification information.

Kit consistency
